Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Canon EOS 7D Mark II Canon EOS R6 Mark II Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS II USM Canon Extender EF 1.4x III +6 more > 25 ft = 135mm:
The Canon EF 2X II telephoto extender is a reasonably inexpensive way to double the focal length of some of the Canon lenses. There are a few pro's and con's when considering going this route. The image quality of this extender is extremely good and maintains the image quality of the lens that is attached to.
Shooting with the Canon EF 1.4x III Extender mounted results in reduction of autofocus speed. According to Chuck Westfall (Canon USA): "As with previous EF Extenders, usage of Series III EF Extenders lowers AF drive speed to improve AF performance. When Extender EF 1.4X III is used, AF drive speed is reduced by 50%.

Re: Canon 1.4x EF Extender II vs. III In reply to mrjayd • Feb 4, 2011 They said it has some kind of new coating which reduces ghosting and flare and also a chip with new electronics to improve the focusing when use with the newer generation IS and all those new big telephoto lenses, so it's all good on paper.

The Canon EF 2x II Extender is an easy and very affordable way to dramatically extend the reach (focal length) of compatible Canon L Series lenses (and a few additional lenses). This review will sound very similar to the Canon 1.4x Extender Review, but the 2x function is basically the same.I'm using the 100-400L USM IS II, the Extender 1.4X III, and the EF-RF Control Ring Adapter on my R5, which gives an equivalent 140-560mm zoom range. Of course the added lengths of the extender and adapter add to the overall length, but it's definitely a usable combination.
